The APA recently produced a 4-part video series (2-4 minutes each) illustrating some career paths in psychiatry by profiling four doctors.  The featured member in each video discusses how psychiatry provides unique options and fulfilling opportunities; whether it is balancing time in the ER while working in private practice, treating military members and their families, researching the science of addiction, or mentoring the next generation of psychiatrists.  One of the featured psychiatrists is MPS member Rahsaan Lindsey, M.D. The videos can be accessed at

On May 13, 2004, Gerald Klee, MD was honored, Dr. Steven Daviss became the President, and Dr. Carolyn Robinowitz spoke about "Psychiatry for the 21st Century: Great Expectations.” The dinner, held at the Overhills Mansion in Catonsville, was attended by 73 members and guests.

At the 52nd annual dinner of the MPS, on May 9, 2002, incoming President Dina Sokal gave the "Lifetime of Service" award to Jonas Rappeport, MD. She introduced him by speaking about his "life-long career of dedication to the needs of psychiatric patients", cited his energy, organizational skills, and integrity, and mentioned some of his many accomplishments.

Dr. Miller communicates through texting, Facebook, blogs, podcasts and probably other technology totally foreign to me.   She agreed kindly to participate in the following interview over the phone and through email.  I hope I can convey Dinah’s warmth, compassion, sense of humor and energy.
