This group is for the members of the Membership and Recruitment committee
This committee recruits and evaluates applicants for membership in the Society, in accordance with the Society's Constitution and By-Laws, and APA policy. The committee welcomes new members and is active in member retention.
This group is for the members of the Payer Relations committee
Previously named the Managed Care Committee, this committee represents the Society's interest and concern on issues in managed care and utilization review. Its activities range from gathering information on and assisting with complaints, to recommending Society positions, to legislative, regulatory and public awareness initiatives.
This group is for the members of the Geriatric Psychiatry committee
This committee represents the Society's interest and concern on issues in geriatric psychiatry and acts in liaison with other committees and organizations with related concerns.
This group is for the members of the Executive committee
This group is for the members of the Ethics committee
This committee reviews ethical dilemmas in psychiatric practice, and provides leadership and guidance to members. The committee also has responsibility for investigating ethical complaints against members following action by the Maryland Board of Physicians. It is constitutionally limited to eight members, three of whom must be past presidents.
This group is for the members of the Editorial Advisory Board committee
This committee is responsible to the Council for supervising and advising the Editor of The Maryland Psychiatrist regarding policies, article selections, and general management of the publication.
This group is for the members of the Early Career Psychiatrists committee
This group is for the members of the Distinguished Fellowship committee
This committee selects the Society's nominees for APA Distinguished Fellowship each year in accordance with APA Guidelines. Its members must be Distinguished Fellows or Distinguished Life Fellows.
This group is for the members of the Disaster Psychiatry committee
This committee works toward the goals of advocating for patients, supporting education and training in disaster psychiatry, enhancing the scientific basis of psychiatric care for victims of disaster, and developing a disaster readiness plan.
