by Gerald D Klee, MD, Editor, The Maryland Psychiatrist
[Winter 1998; Vol.25 No. 3]
The Maryland Psychiatrist (TMP) was first published in January 1974, under the editorship of Lino Covi, MD. During the past twenty five years of continuous publication, TMP has reported on many topics and has played an important role in the life of the MPS. Back issues have been carefully saved and bound into a volume that is maintained at the MPS office. Much history of the MPS for the past quarter century is recorded in this archive. Over the course of time, the collection has grown very large. Lacking an index, it has been largely ignored and its wealth of material neglected. Finally, during the summer of 1998, MPS recruited a summer intern who spent many weeks creating an index, under the supervision of Heidi Bunes. The intern, Stephanie Simon, a Goucher college student, completed the indexing through 1995. Full text of selected articles is on line for articles published since 1995. The index runs many pages. The best way for us to make the index available to TMP readers is through the MPS web site. You will find it here. The index is ordered by date, by author or by subject. Once the desired article is located a copy can be obtained by contacting the MPS office by email at mps@mdpsych.org or by phone at (410) 625-0232.
Congratulations and thanks to Stephanie Simon, Heidi Bunes and David Gotlib, MD, our web master, for a job well done. We also congratulate Lino Covi, who continues to be a very productive member of the editorial board.
