Aileen Kopelson joins MPS staff

[Summer 1997; Vol. 24 No. 2]

Aileen Kopelson joined the MPS staff on May 19, 1997 as part-time Membership/CME Coordinator. She will be assisting members with membership issues (including upgrades, transfers, database updates, dues etc.), staffing the Membership & CME committees, helping to plan scientific programs, and providing patient referrals.

MPS Executive Director, Heidi Bunes said, "Robert Dillard and I tend to think Aileen must have been meant to work with us. She applied for the position when it was open a year and a half ago, but when we called to invite her for an interview she had already accepted another offer. Fortunately for us, that position was being downsized and when she saw our blind classified ad appear again, she looked through her old records and called us directly. Although there were many highly qualified applicants, Aileen's resourcefulness and attention to detail impressed us. We an glad to have her as our new co-worker." A native Baltimorean, Aileen left to attend Albright College in Reading, PA. Since returning to Baltimore with a B.A. in English and Psychology she has worked as an Administrative Assistant at Young Audiences of Maryland and at a health management firm working with their membership, grant writing, and marketing. She is also a professional stained glass artist and has been in shows at the Baltimore Museum of Art, Artscape, and Sugarloaf Craft Shows.

Aileen reports, "I am really enjoying my position here at MPS so far. I had the opportunity to meet several of you at the Maryland Foundation for Psychiatry's Art Show and many more by telephone. I look forward to working with you in the future. I will be here Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Just call if I can help."
