On
June 1, 2001, Jennifer Gajewski was appointed Executive Director of the Maryland
Psychiatric Society. Ms. Gajewski has a background in marketing and had worked
for the Baltimore City Medical Society. She has been Assistant Executive
Director for MPS since November of 1998.
In addition to her full-time position with MPS, Jennifer graduated in May from the University of Baltimore. She completed a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in health administration.
“The MPS has been pro-active in recent years, a trend I look forward to continuing. Since my start at the MPS I have been given the opportunity to take the lead in developing and implementing several different projects on behalf of our members,” Jennifer commented. “I look forward to stepping into the role of Executive Director as one of the guiding forces behind the MPS. In addition to concentrating on legislation, my focus will be on membership, which will involve enhancing our member benefits and promoting our society to psychiatrists and to the community at large.”
Jennifer replaces Heidi Bunes as Executive Director. Ms Bunes had held the position since April 1989. Heidi is stepping down to spend more time with her two daughters, Anne, two and a half, and Caroline, five months.
