Having problems with Magellan?

Spending time searching for the right person without getting resolution?

Use the new MPS form to get results!

The Maryland Psychiatric Society and the Maryland Psychological Association have arranged with Mid Atlantic Magellan a procedure for our respective members to file complaints of any kind with a single source who will route the complaint or problem to the correct person at Magellan in order to facilitate resolution.

At the same time, Maryland Psychiatric Society, through the Payer Relations Committee, will be able to monitor trends in Magellan-related complaints and be able to bring unresolved issues more forcefully to Magellan (or another authority).

The procedure is simple. Members will e-mail or fax the completed complaint form (see next page) to Phil Dvoskin, M.D., of the MPS Payer Relations Committee. The forms will be forwarded to the V.P. of Operations at Magellan, who will assure that the issue is properly routed. The complaining psychiatrist could expect contact from Magellan in 3-10 days.

The status of all complaint resolution will be directed back to Dr. Dvoskin weekly. The Managed Care Committee will review complaints to assess trends and success of resolution. Continuing problems will be brought to Magellan leadership, with whom we will meet regularly.

For further information, please contact Dr. Dvoskin at (410) 760-5588 ext. 206, or pdvos@comcast.net
