MPS Disaster Psychiatry Committee Request

Hurricane Katrina has ravaged the gulf coast and has left hundreds of thousands of lives irrevocably changed in its wake.  One concerning aspect of the response was lack of basic coordination on the part of the nation’s psychiatrists (and various psychiatric agencies). The MPS Disaster Psychiatry Committee would like to ascertain the level of interest in disaster response from the general membership.  Please answer the following questions as they pertain to a disaster in Maryland, or the DelMarVa region.  Your participation will allow us to plan a more coordinated psychiatric response.
